Competence > Computerized Well Logging

VAOS is proud to offer its clients high quality Computerized Well logging Services. VAOS has extensive experience of borehole logging operations in Libya and can usually mobilize at short notice for single-hole or long-term contracts. The entire range of VAOS equipment is available on a service basis operated by our own highly-trained personnel.

VAOS provides logging services with one Geo Vista vehicle mounted Well Logging Unit based on a Mercedes "UNIMOG" van truck crew-cab body, 4-wheel drive, designed for desert use. The winch is Heavy duty hydraulically operated with following specification: capacity: 3000 meters and speed: 0-30 m/min. The electrical wireline is a steel armored cable with seven conductors and 5/16 " outer diameter, 1900 m length.
The surface logging system is a state of the art unit capable of interfacing between a stack of logging sondes and the surface computer. All data communication is controlled from the GeoVista logger surface unit. A stack logging system is one where several sondes can be screwed together and run as a single tool string. The advantages of this are speed of operation (less trips in the hole), control of measurements made in a single run . These are significant advantages, particularly where a varied logging programme is envisaged.

Our Well Logging Technology

Our log data in LAS format can be imported into commercially available log processing software like for instance Viewlog of Viewlog Systems and WellCad of ALT. These offer useful options for log computations, corrections, correlation and versatile presentations.
